If you are a small business director/owner and could offer some of your time to support The Structural Engineer magazine, we'd like to hear from you.

Do you enjoy reading The Structural Engineer? Would you like to help shape the magazine's content and ensure its relevance to smaller practices?

We're looking to recruit a new member of the magazine's Editorial Advisory Group (EAG) working as a director or owner of a small to medium-sized practice. Ideally, we'd like someone with experience of most aspects of running a small business.

What is involved?

As a member of the EAG, you'll attend three short meetings each year, which are usually held virtually. Typically lasting 1.5 hours, the meetings are an opportunity to provide feedback on recent issues of the magazine and share ideas for future content or topics.

You'll also be expected to provide ad hoc advice to the editorial team over the course of the year on article ideas and to review a number of short articles (around 1–2 pages) on 'business practice' topics.

Get in touch

If you're interested in the role, or have any questions, please get in touch at [email protected].

To put yourself forward, please send us a short email outlining your experience in this area and why you'd like to get involved.
