Welcome to the Scottish Branch

The Scottish branch was founded in October 1931 with a membership of 154 and under the Chairmanship of Professor Sir Thomas Hudson Beare (F), Regius Professor of Engineering, University of Edinburgh.

The Branch celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1981-82 under the chairmanship of Dr George Geddes CBE, Past President of the Institution (1971-72). The Branch covers the whole of Scotland with a membership of over 1600 (including 141 Fellows).
