A message from the Chairman to the members of the Surrey Branch and anyone interested in the art and science of structural engineering.

Welcome to the Surrey Branch web pages. Here you will find out about the events we put on throughout the year for your benefit and much more besides. Please take advantage of these meetings as they are an excellent way find out what is going on and to network with others in the construction industry. I myself have found this a very rewarding experience.

The Branch was formed in 1985 and is one of the largest in terms of number of Institution members with over 1000 in our area. Surrey Branch has played a significant role for over twenty years in enhancing the knowledge of Structural Engineering and professional contacts between the those living and working in the local area. This has been organised through Technical Meetings and Seminars as well as through Social Events like Summer Outings, Pub Quizzes, Treasure Hunts and Annual Dinners. All are welcome and we look forward to meeting you.

With regards to our Branch Committee we are looking for new, younger members with fresh ideas to join us in managing the affairs of the Branch. Of course, this does not imply any age barrier. More experienced members are equally welcome. Those who have volunteered to join us in the past have found the Committee work both pleasant and rewarding.
