TeamBuild 2008
TeamBuild is a competition, supported by the Institution of Structural Engineers' Educational Trust, aimed at the best young professionals in the construction industry. It is an exhilarating, fast-paced, challenging and exhaustive test of skills, leadership and collaboration. Could YOU enter a team for TeamBuild 2008?
The Challenge
Teams are challenged to compete in a simulation of the design and construction process for the development of a real site. This has been hailed by our Judges, all leading representatives of the industry, as 'the best CPD exercise there is'.
The finals weekend starts with a masterplan proposal and runs right through the construction process, finishing with the construction stage of a major development. You will need to think, discuss, sketch, design, compromise, calculate, and then present your work at all stages.
How it works
Each team requires a variety of skills: the group will need to work together through several architectural, landscape, civil, structural, M&E, financial, construction and project management challenges. If selected for the finals weekend, the team, of up to six members, battles against eight other groups to take the accolade of National Winner of TeamBuild 2008!
How to enter
You need to form a team of mixed professionals, ideally six individuals, all aged under 30 and each registered with a professional institution. Register your team by 15th August, to receive a brief for your pre-qualification submission, which needs to reach us by 15th October. The final nine teams will be chosen from these submissions, and invited to the finals weekend on 14-16th November.
