Membership of the Education Panel is a good way to play an active role in industry developments and form lasting partnerships with relevant organisations and government agencies.

Membership of the panel involves attending meetings, assisting the work of study groups and acting as a point of contact for the panel. As a member you'll have full access to all Education Panel meeting minutes and other related documents.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Institution policy for education into the profession and provide focus for Institution resources and initiatives, encouraging an international perspective. Within this policy clarify desired educational outcomes. 
  • Work with the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) and academia to influence curriculum and syllabi to help achieve desired outcomes.
  • Foster communication of best practice across educational establishments, including web-based communication, annual seminar and publications. 
  • Foster connections between the Institution and its branches and educational establishments.
  • Develop strategic relationships with outside bodies, such as RAEng, E4E etc, to ensure the Institution influences outcomes of national/international education initiatives at all levels, including government policy. 
  • Work with the Institution's Educational Trust, Young Members' Panel and the Institution resources, to maximise benefit to the Institution’s members.
  • Report to and liaise with the Membership Committee of the Institution.
