The Stadia and Other Crowd Excited Structures Study Group was set up to discuss all aspects of major venue design, from conception to analysis and optimisation of all the structural elements, fabrication, delivery and construction issues.

Topics covered:

• The design and construction of grandstands and stadia as well as long span structures
• The dynamic behaviour and design of grandstands and dance floors
• Promotion of the group's recommendations following research into the dynamic performance of grandstands and to gather feedback on new guidelines
• Analysis and understanding of the interesting aspects of moving roofs and floors
