The Institution is incorporated in the United Kingdom under Royal Charter. This sets out its powers and governance in general terms. These are amplified by Bye-laws and Regulations.
Each member is bound by the Institution's Code of Conduct. This is supplemented amplified by Guidance Notes. The Institution's procedure for investigating allegations of misconduct, and its powers in relation to members found in breach of the Code of Conduct, are set out in section 4 of the Regulations. A summary is contained in the Complaints Procedure leaflet. |
