Membership Appeals Procedure

There is a right of appeal against any decision of the Membership Committee which is responsible for administrating all matters relating to membership in relation to application for election or transfer or for approval to sit the Institution's examinations and professional review.

Any appeal, in the first instance, shall be in writing by the applicant and shall include a full statement of the applicant's case. Appeals must be received within 90 days of the written notification sent to the applicant advising of the Membership Committee's decision.

The appeal shall be considered by the Membership Committee at its first meeting following receipt of the appeal.

Any applicant who remains dissatisfied with a decision of the Membership Committee should write formally to the President.

The President will appoint an Appeals Panel of three senior members of the Institution to consider the appeal independently and report their decision to the Membership Committee.

The decision of the Appeals Panel shall be final and without prejudice to any separate right of appeal to the ECUK upon matters pertaining on its register.
