The Young Structural Engineers’ International Design Competition 2008 required the design of an Olympic stadium with a legacy use of both the stadium and the site on which it is to be built.
The legacy facility had to be useful and economically viable over the projected structural life of fifty years.
The stadium was to be a landmark prestige structure worthy of the Olympic Games and is to be representative of the city and country in which it is built.
