The Institution of Structural Engineers issues several Awards throughout the year to exceptional individuals and teams. In recognition of these exemplary achievements within the Institution and/or the structural engineering industry, we host an Annual Awards Luncheon, to which all winners are invited.

The 2014 Judging Panel have awarded Diplomas for Papers which have been published in The Structural Engineer in the session January - December 2013
This Award recognises academics who demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of teaching in structural engineering
The Educational Trust Travel Award has been presented to two individuals who have now spent 4-6 weeks outside their own country studying current practises and trends.
The Lewis Kent Award is given for personal services by a member to the Institution or profession. This Award is chosen by the Nominations Committee
The Service Awards are given for services to the Institution as a Regional Group official, an Institution representative or in some other capacity. This Award is chosen by the Nominations Committee
The Institution presents the Award to recognise exciting new talent at work in the structural engineering profession and is open to any member aged 30 years or under
Applications are now open to the 2015 Award. Submit your answer to 2015 President Tim Ibell’s question on the role of creativity in the education of structural engineers for the chance to win £500 and see your answer published in The Structural Engineer.
Deadline for entries is 30 January 2015
The Educational Trust holds a biennial essay competition, inviting both sixth-form students (Year 12 and 13) and Student and Graduate members of the Institution to submit an essay on the subject of ‘favourite structures’.
Recipients of this award are judged on dedicated, valuable, outstanding or exceptional personal contributions towards the advancement of the Institution’s international interests.
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises the outstanding commitment of one individual to the activities of the Institution.
The recipient is selected by the Nominations Committee
