Why Enter? In this challenging market place where marketing budgets are being squeezed and pushed to work further and more effectively, there has never been a better time to enter the Structural Awards.
Entering allows you the opportunity to be associated with the continued growth and success of this annual occasion in which we celebrate achievement and innovation in structural engineering.
This achievement will not only be recognised at the event, you will also raise your profile via the publicity that the Institution carries out for the Structural Awards.
This includes shortlisted and winners’ details on the Institution’s website and a feature in The Structural Engineer which goes out to all our members.
By being a shortlisted or winning project, this accolade can be used in your future marketing material showing your commitment and the international recognition of excellence in structural engineering.
Who can enter? Any structural engineer who is a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers can submit a project on behalf of their consultancy.
What type of project is suitable? The Structural Awards welcome entries from around the world and are open to small and large projects.
Judging is based on merit not scale.
The project entered, however, should have been completed or due for completion between 18 April 2009 and 12 April 2010.
Which category should I enter? The Structural Awards categories are varied to reflect the diverse range of projects that structural engineers may be involved in.
Projects can be submitted in up to two categories. You must demonstrate in your descriptive text how your project meets the judging criteria.
Judging criteria Submissions are judged on whether and to what extent the structural design of the project displays the following attributes:
Excellence
Creativity and innovation
Sustainability
Value
Your key descriptive text should demonstrate the judges criteria clearly.
How to enter

Complete the online entry form. You will be given a unique ID number for your project.

Upload your project images via FTP in a zip file. FTP instructions will be given to you once you have completed the entry form.
Your Zip file can contain up to 5 images, sized at 300dpi, and 3 other items such as CAD design or newspaper clippings.

Make payment by post, fax or telephone. There is a charge of £250 per project to enter the Structural Awards 2010.
The entry fee of £250 will be offset against the cost of a table of 10. When booking a table of 8 £150 will be deducted from the cost.
If you have multiple entries you can either make individual payments for each entry or add them all together on one sheet. Please remember to add in all ID numbers if doing so. |

All members of the project team, including the project owner have given their consent for the project to be entered into the competition |

The judges reserve the right to re-assign projects to different categories where it is deemed appropriate. |

Although information submitted and photographic copyright of any project images will remain with the authors, the Institution has the right to retain work for exhibition purposes and to reproduce it for publication, including digitally or via the internet. If the copyright of any images belongs to another party then this must be clearly stated in the box provided |
Deadline for submissions The deadline for submissions for the Structural Awards 2010 is Friday 16 April 2010.
Shortlisted projects The shortlist for the Structural Awards 2010 will be announced on Wednesday 4 August 2010.
All entrants will be notified by post and the shortlist will go live on this website.
