Annual Return

Please note that the CPD Return has been restructured and members are therefore strongly advised to review the guidance document which gives information and advice on completion of the Return.

This form (PDF file) or (DOC file) is confidential to the Institution and is kept as a record of members' CPD achievements. The Annual Return will only be issued to third parties with the permission of the member concerned.

The Institution sends the Annual Return to members during November and December each year. Members are requested to complete the return and submit it to the Institution by 31st March of the next year. Completed forms are assessed by Branch CPD Officers who offer guidance and highlight those members who have undertaken appropriate CPD activities. In some cases, members fail to submit sufficient information on which the CPD Officers may base their judgement. Under such circumstances those members are given an opportunity to submit additional information.

Those members who complete and submit the Annual Return in an acceptable manner have a "CPD" annotation placed against their names in the Members Directory (formerly yearbook) and on their membership card.

Members are requested to list all their CPD activities during the past year, indicate a plan of future objectives and make a commitment to undertake CPD. Members may choose to attach additional information or indeed include record sheets from another Institution. The Institution is flexible regarding the way in which information is submitted. The most important consideration is that members recognise their CPD activities and advise the Institution accordingly.

The Institution is keen to stress that submitting a CPD form is not a test. The Institution does not wish to fail or reject submissions.
