Associate-Member
Standard Routes
Candidates who have satisfied the necessary academic requirements and have completed an appropriate period of training may apply for approval to sit the Institution's Associate-Membership examination. On successfully passing the exam, candidates may apply to transfer to Associate-Member and register with the EC UK.
Candidates who are already IEng registered with EC UK through ICE, CIBSE, RINA, IIE, RAeS, IMechE or IMarEST may apply to enter the Associate-Membership examination without being required to submit evidence of their training and experience or undergo another Professional Review Interview unless their membership was gained through a reciprocal agreement with another organisation. Such candidates will be required to make a full submission and undergo a Professional Review Interview before being approved to enter the Associate-Membership examination.

* Candidates are required to pay the graduate/student member subscription (as appropriate) pending transfer to Associate-Member.

**Please Note: vital additional paperwork & guidance in the Initial Professional Development (IPD) section. If you submit Form M and are NOT already a Graduate member there may be a delay before you receive a result following your Branch PRI.
The AM form should ONLY be completed by candidates who have followed the Initial Professional Development route.
If your application Associate-Member Membership is to be made via either the Accredited Training Scheme Route or the Retrospectively Collated Route DO NOT submit your logbook paperwork or portfolio of work to the Membership Department with your form. You will receive a letter of acknowledgement once the initial assessment of your form, IPD Final Report Forms and Experience Report has been completed, which will tell you to send your logbook or portfolio of work (if relevant) to your local Branch or Representative. DO NOT SEND ANYTHING TO YOUR BRANCH BEFORE YOU RECEIVE THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT LETTER.

Mutual Recognition Agreements
Candidates who are already IEng registered with the EC UK through ICE, CIBSE, IIE, RINA, RAeS, IMechE or IMarEST may apply to enter the Institution's Associate-Member examination without being required to submit evidence of their training and experience or undergo another Professional Review Interview. Such candidates must have taken the standard Professional Review with one of the Institutions listed above.
Mutual Recognition Agreements also exist with the IEI (Republic of Ireland).
If you do not satisfy the agreement criteria you will be required to proceed through the Standard Route.

Other Forms
