The Bedfordshire and Adjoining Counties Regional Group was founded as a section on 1 July 1970 with a membership of 145 and covers the area of the counties of Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, the districts of Peterborough, Huntingdon, South Cambridgeshire and Cambridge, and the district of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire.
