Welcome to the Scotland Regional Group

This group represents members of the Institution of Structural Engineers in the area and should be contacted if you have any queries relating to the Institution or to structural engineering in general.

The Scottish Regional Group (formerly branch) was founded in October 1931 with a membership of 154 and under the chairmanship of Professor Sir Thomas Hudson Beare (F), Regius Professor of Engineering, University of Edinburgh. The group celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1981-82 under the chairmanship of Dr George Geddes CBE, Past President of the Institution (1971-72). The group covers the whole of Scotland with a membership of over 1600.

Saltire Society Civil Engineering Awards 2012 - Nominations wanted

Anybody, including members of the public may nominate a project for an award but entries must be submitted by either public authorities, companies, consulting engineers, contractors, or members of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
