The Surrey Regional Group (formerly branch) was formed in 1985 and has played a significant role for over twenty years in enhancing the knowledge of structural engineering and professional contacts between the those living and working in the local area.

Regional Groups - explaining the name change

As you may have noticed, the term ‘Regional Groups’ has been cropping up when referring to Branches, Sections and Divisions. We do realise that some of you may be wondering where this term has come from and why the decision has been made to change the terminology used by the Institution, so we thought it best to explain!
