Published: 05/01/2012

The annual report ‘Engineering UK 2012’ is now available from the Engineering UK website.

The annual flagship report ‘Engineering UK 2012’ which Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, states in his foreword ‘is a benchmark against which the performance of the engineering sector over the coming year can be judged’ is now available from the Engineering UK website.

This year’s report hinges on a central fact: that the lead role in rebalancing the economy, addressing climate change and feeding a growing population will rest with engineering employers.

It confirms that the engineering sector is at the forefront of the UK’s growth agenda and that jointly we, businesses, education and Government can overcome the technological, environmental and skills challenges that lie ahead in order to deliver significant sustainable growth.

The report was the subject of a roundtable meeting at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on 8 December 2011 hosted by Minister for Business and Enterprise, Mark Prisk.

Vince Cable Secretary of State for Busines, Innovation and Skills said:

"Engineering UK 2012 is a benchmark against which the performance of the engineering sector over the coming year can be judged."

Copies of the full report and the executive summary and conclusions can be found on the Engineering UK website.
