The Royal Academy of Engineering elects 59 new Fellows

Great recognition for some of the world's most accomplished engineers across the full spectrum of engineering, including Institution members.
The Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) held their AGM on 16 July 2012 and are delighted to announce the election of 59 new Fellows.
“We welcome our new Fellows – the collective expertise and vision of the best engineers is what drives our ambitious agenda and makes so many good things possible. We are making progress in our aim to encourage a broader-based Fellowship that is more representative of the society we serve. But we cannot afford to be complacent and are continually reviewing our membership strategy to see how we might strengthen it” says Sir John Parker GBE FREng, President of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Amongst those elected are previous Gold Medal winner Michel Virlogeux CEng, FIStructE, our Caribbean Regional Co-ordinator Tony Gibbs FRSA, BSc(Eng), CEng, FIStructE, FICE and Institution Fellows, Professor Colin Bailey CEng, FICE, FIStructE, Professor Chinemelu Jidenka Anumba FREng, CEng, FICE, FIStructE, FCIOB, FASCE, and Dr Allyson Lawless FREng, FISACE, FIStructE, FSAAE, FIMESA.
