Searching by directories
Directories are a structured way of storing and categorising images. Every image in the photo library is located inside a subdirectory and the directory structure helps to describe the picture e.g. An image of a 19th century iron bridge could be located under Structures -> Bridge -> Iron -> 19th Century.
Clicking on a directory on the photo library's front page will display a list of subdirectories, beside each subdirectory is a number inside brackets, this indicates how many approved images can be found by navigation down.
Sometimes you may reach a directory and find limited images or irrelevant images, one solution to this problem is clicking the button at the bottom of the page (see below).

If the above button was clicked then a search would run looking for all images in the database containing the word "Bridge" or located inside a "Bridge" directory.
Basic Search
The basic search is a text search that looks through the descriptions and directories an image is stored under.
If you typed the words "Iron Bridge" into the basic search then you will find all images located in an iron directory, a bridge directory and any image with iron or bridge in its description.
To get the most out of the basic search start off with one key word/term and see how many results are returned, if none are returned or they are not appropriate add another keyword to the search.
Advanced Search
The main text search of the advanced search is identical to that of the basic search, however you can improve your results using the advanced search's extra options.
Rather then just doing a text search you can also specify the quality of the image, whether the image is colour or black and white, if the image is a photo or a graphic and who owns the copyright of the image.
