Africa
IStructE has long had a presence in Africa; in 1937 South Africa Division was the first to be established outside the UK. Since then IStructE has continued to expand. In 1960 the Nigerian Section was founded, this subsequently became a Division in 1989 but was disbanded in 2008. Today IStructE members can be found across the continent, from Morocco to Namibia, and from Sierra Leone to Kenya.
