A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the South African Institution of Civil Engineers (SAICE) in 1992. The Memorandum established a Joint Structural Division responsible for activities associated with structural engineering. To join the membership of the Division it is necessary to be in membership of both
IStructE and SAICE. Members benefit from an IStructE subscription reduction of 45%.
