The Young Members' Panel represents the views of younger members of the profession and develops initiatives to benefit those members.
Under the chairmanship of Alice Ward, the Panel liaises with other Panels and Committees within the Institution to ensure that the voice of the young engineer is heard. The panel has been raising the awareness and interest of young people in the profession – one venture has been for members of the Panel to visit their local universities to give presentations on IStructE, the benefits of membership and the industry in general. The Panel are always considering ways in which the industry and Institution can be brought to the attention of a wider, younger audience.
