Guide to surveys and inspections of buildings and associated structures

The Institution recently reconvened a Task Group under the Chairmanship of Brian Clancy to revise and update this very successful guide. The new task group is a multi discipline group with members from CIBSE and RICS as well as from the Institution.

The guide was originally published as a handy pocket reference for use when actually on site doing the survey/inspection; effectively it was to be an aide memoir of points to consider and to cater for when preparing for and actually carrying out the inspection. The report has been updated to reflect current legislation and good practice. The scope has been extended and further useful checklists added.
