Brittle fracture: BS 5950, para. 2.4.4.3 Two members have responded to Mr A.L. Bruder's query in Verulam, 17 February 1998. Rod Gibbons writes from London NW3: I am sympathetic to Mr Bruder who needs to determine Charpy requirements using 2.4.4.3 of BS 5950. I suspect that impact strength of structural steels is seldom a concern in the UK, which may explain the poor coverage in BS 5950, BS 4360, and the BS EN which is replacing that. Not knowing the plate thicknesses or yield strengths concerned, I can comment only generally.
This paper sets out the development of the construction project process from its beginnings - in terms of recent history - to the current form which includes the provision of finance. K.W. Evans and S. Hockaday
