There are lots of great programmes about engineering available right now, featuring comment from our members and discussions of amazing structures around the world. Here are some of the most interesting options available in the UK as of 16 January 2017.​

Simon Pitchers on the BBC World Service: Institution Council Member, Simon Pitchers, appeared on "News Hour" over the festive period to discuss the challenges of building the Beipanjiang Bridge in China, which soars 565 metres above a gorge in Guizhou province.

Stuart Tappin on Channel 4's "Restoration Man" - (registration required to view) Institution Member Stuart discusses the history of reinforced concrete during this programme, which follows a Cheshire couple's efforts to turn a water tower into a house.

Britain’s Hidden Talent: Women Engineers (BBC Radio 4) - Institution member, Jane Wernick, discusses her work as part of this programme about the contribution of women engineers.

BBC4 Timeshift: How the Severn Bridge was built: The inside story of the design and construction of 'the most perfect suspension bridge in the world', and how its unique slim-line structure arose by accident.

Britain's Greatest Bridges (Channel 5): Engineer Rob Bell presents a fascinating look at Britain's landmark bridges, including the Humber, Tyne and Clifton Suspension Bridges.

Impossible Engineering (UKTV Yesterday): This series will feature programmes on the engineering behind structures like Kansai Airport, Shanghai Tower and Rion Antiron Bridge.
