Joe is a consulting engineer based in Ireland having previously worked as a lecturer and Head of Department of Civil and Structural Engineering at Dublin Institute of Technology.
Prior to that, Joe worked in consulting engineering practices on projects in Europe and the Middle East.
He has had a long involvement in the engineering profession in Ireland as part of the Institution's Regional Group Committee since the 1980s, having served as Chairman and Vice Chairman.
Joe has always had a strong interest in the history of engineering and its many contributions to the welfare of humanity.

Thomas Tong will give a talk on the design of Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) from an an engineering perspective and practice in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Annual Dinner for 2019 is expected to be attended by around 200 participants who are prominent members of the engineering and construction industry.
