This course is aimed at candidates who are about to sit the Chartered Membership (CM) examination and is run in accordance with the Institution's examination preparation guidelines. It follows a successful format, developed and delivered for the Institution by the speakers over the last twenty years.
The course concentrates on the general principles and techniques that candidates should find useful to successfully complete the examination. Essential examination techniques are demonstrated and past examination questions are used for tutorial work and group discussion.
The general principles are demonstrated through solutions to four actual questions: Bridge, Steel Building, Concrete Building and a “General” Building (giving a comprehensive range of examples).
After completing the course, candidates should have a much better understanding of the requirements of the examination and what the examiners expect to see in a full (and thus successful) answer.
