Contract Law for Engineers (Bristol)


This course covers the practical issues arising from commercial contracts.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, you should be able to:
  • Interpret lawyers' jargon
  • Identify which legal issues are critical in a negotiation
  • Recognise how to use the contract during the progress of a project or delivery of the service


Rob Langley has an MA (Oxon) in Jurisprudence and is a barrister, solicitor, Fellow of the Society of Advanced Legal Studies, practising adjudicator, arbitrator and mediator. He is a law firm partner specialising in engineering and construction law, dealing with almost every form of contract. He has extensive and successful experience of defending claims against construction professionals.

Intended for

Middle and senior managers.

Entry criteria

Participants would benefit from having at least some years’ experience in practice.
