Apply the skills required to perform limit state calculations in accordance with the code

Structural engineers who will use Eurocode 9. The basic principles and content will also be useful for structural and mechanical engineers who will use aluminium in other applications.
Some prior experience of design of steel or aluminium structures using British or European design codes will be necessary to fully appreciate all aspects of the design rules.
Meini SU is a Lecturer in Structural Engineering in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering at University of Manchester. She is engaged in teaching at undergraduate level and working in the Structural and Extreme Environments group.
Her principal research interests, in respect of which she has co-authored one textbook and some 40 papers, lie in the areas of structural testing, numerical modelling and the development of design guidance for aluminium alloy structures and reinforced concrete structures in marine environment.
