David is the brains behind the development of Trimble’s Analysis & Design software, Tekla Structural Designer, and has been with the company for over 30 years. He is an instrumental part of Trimble’s Civil Engineering and Construction division and recently developed the carbon calculator within Tekla software.
In his current role, Ian splits his time between structural design and sustainability. A chartered structural engineer, Ian has a range of experience across multiple sectors and specialises in long span steel design. More recently, Ian has worked on a range of net zero carbon initiatives, including leading the embodied carbon workstream for the NHS Net Zero Carbon Building Standard and the DfE GenZero Schools Project. Ian is a member of the IStructE Sustainability Panel, authoring two published papers in the Structural Engineer Journal and co-producing the Structural Sustainability Report Template in his term on the panel.
Sebastian works in Trimble Structures Division HQ in Finland, where he develops and manages solutions for dealing with complex geometry in Tekla Structures. Currently, he is preoccupied with exploring parametric workflows using the link between Grasshopper and Tekla Structures, which enables rapid structural form iterations and investigation of design options.
