This sponsored in-person briefing by Trimble will offer practical guidance in answer to today's need to working more collaboratively and sustainably in engineering and constructions projects.

The in-person seminar will demonstrate how the wider industry is benefitting from a connected construction workflow.

Real-life testimonials will offer a glimpse on how to design faster and more accurately, and they will showcase the more sustainable outcomes achieved by evaluating carbon, such as a reduced waste, and better collaboration, such as avoided rework.

The seminar will cover the following:

  • Structured Parametrics as a solution for practical, accurate, and time saving building design

  • Interoperability between different tools for steel, rebar modelling, and connection design workflow

  • Modern solutions for sustainable construction with Carbon Calculator tools and One Click LCA

  • Sharing models in production for civil engineering and infrastructure projects, such as roads and railways

  • Live product demonstrations and networking

Intended for

  • Structural engineers

  • Civil engineers

  • Anyone involved in engineering and construction projects

Reasons to attend

  • Learn how to design sustainably from the start of your project

  • Learn what efficient collaboration means in the current climate

  • Learn about modern solutions and What Trimble has to offer

  • Get to know other experts from the wider industry

Speakers

David Sanderson Analysis & Design Product Manager, Trimble

David is the brains behind the development of Trimble’s Analysis & Design software, Tekla Structural Designer, and has been with the company for over 30 years. He is an instrumental part of Trimble’s Civil Engineering and Construction division and recently developed the carbon calculator within Tekla software.

Ian Poole Senior Engineer, Elliott Wood

In his current role, Ian splits his time between structural design and sustainability. A chartered structural engineer, Ian has a range of experience across multiple sectors and specialises in long span steel design. More recently, Ian has worked on a range of net zero carbon initiatives, including leading the embodied carbon workstream for the NHS Net Zero Carbon Building Standard and the DfE GenZero Schools Project. Ian is a member of the IStructE Sustainability Panel, authoring two published papers in the Structural Engineer Journal and co-producing the Structural Sustainability Report Template in his term on the panel.

Sebastian Lindholm Advanced BIM Consultant, Trimble

Sebastian works in Trimble Structures Division HQ in Finland, where he develops and manages solutions for dealing with complex geometry in Tekla Structures. Currently, he is preoccupied with exploring parametric workflows using the link between Grasshopper and Tekla Structures, which enables rapid structural form iterations and investigation of design options.
