The Building Safety Act puts in new and enhanced regulatory regimes for building safety and construction products. This event will provide an overview of what it means for practising structural engineers.

This hybrid event will feature a keynote address from Dame Judith Hackitt, whose landmark report following the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017 set out many recommendations which have been implemented in the safety framework of the Building Safety Act.

The programme will outline what the Building Safety Act means for practicing structural engineers and provide an overview of how the regulations will be enforced.

Programme topics:
  • What your duties are, from an individual competency and project perspective
  • Additional requirements for those working on new and existing higher-risk buildings.
  • What behavioural and cultural change required in the built environment industry
  • Enforcement of the new regulations
Intended for:

  • SME Practitioners
