Poppy is Cambridge Electric Cement's co-founder and COO. Previous to joining CEC, she worked as a supply chain, operations and sustainability strategist, and spent 10+ years with Accenture designing and building sustainable value chains for G2000 companies. She has lead teams across a variety of industries and international settings, including Industrials, Aerospace, Consumer Goods and Life Sciences. Her work has focused on building new business models and then the operational capabilities needed to realise them - across sourcing and procurement, supply chain, planning, manufacturing, and logistics functions. As an ‘intrepreneur’, Poppy co-founded Accenture’s Supply Chain Decarbonisation business in 2021, which generates $100m+ revenue today. Poppy is motivated by building great teams, creating new solutions, and delivering sustainability impact. She holds a double first class MEng in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge, where she first met Cambridge Electric Cement’s academic founding team. Outside of work, she loves travel, gardening, rugby and cycling.
Ladin Camci BSc MSc is ‘Chief Technology & Sustainability Officer (CTSO)’ and ‘Executive Board Member’ of CARES, an international product certification body that focuses on the production, processing, supply and installation of steel products used in the construction industry. Ladin has contributed for the development of sustainability and responsible sourcing schemes and digital transformation of CARES internal and external processes to compliment his considerable experience. Ladin is the convener of the fib TG 5.2, deputy convener of fib TG 7.5 and member of fib Special Activity Group on Sustainability.
João is a Chartered Civil Engineer at AtkinsRéalis with over nine years of experience in heavy civil projects, including tunnels, bridges, tidal barriers, and nuclear power plants. He specialises in complex structural design, stability assessments, and wind dynamic analysis for steel and reinforced concrete.
Recently, he led the successful delivery of the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier project, coordinating a multidisciplinary team to tackle global warming impacts. Previously, he was the Project Lead for secondary steelwork design at Hinkley Point C, managing contractual changes for the UK's first new nuclear power plant in a generation.
A graduate of Coimbra University in 2016, Joao focused his Master's Thesis on steel splice connections. He currently splits his time between leading the Turbine Halls Building for the EPR2 French Nuclear New Build fleet and working in the fusion energy sector.
Joost Walraven was a professor of Concrete Structures at Delft University of Technology from 1990 to 2012. He served as president of the International Concrete Federation (fib) from 2000 to 2002 and led the Eurocode for Concrete Structures team, which has been the standard in Europe since 2004. He also chaired the fib Model Code 2010 committee and later co-convened the task group for its updated version.
After retiring in 2012, he chaired several key committees, including the Dutch Committee on seismic effects from gas extraction. He was also involved in fib Task Groups on fiber-reinforced and ultra-high-performance concrete. Walraven received numerous awards, including the Freyssinet Medal in 2014, and authored over 500 publications.

Achieve accurate design and effective implementation with transfer slabs from concept to construction.
This course gives guidance on the key considerations when planning the construction of deep basements. It covers using both embedded wall bottom-up and top-down construction in accordance with Eurocodes 2 and 7.
This course gives guidance on the key design and constructability considerations when planning the construction of deep (greater than 5 meters) basements. It covers various types of embedded walls for both bottom-up and top-down construction.
Providing structural engineers with the latest practical tools and guidance to enable the reuse of existing structures, structural materials and components.
The course provides a practical introduction to data acquisition for structural condition monitoring and for use in live asset management projects.
This one-day course introduces timber as an engineering material, with a focus on its use in historic structures. It covers non-destructive techniques for condition assessment and strategies for the reuse of heritage structures.
This half-day in-person course provides guidance to early-career structural engineers to develop a better understanding of geotechnical engineering and use that knowledge to enhance and promote sustainable design.
This two-day course is an essential introduction to the conceptual design process for bridges. It covers two key areas: selecting a structural form to suit the constraints of a site and arranging materials and components to meet the demands of the structure in an elegant and logical way.
This course establishes good practice in the design of reinforced concrete structures. Through practical exercises, it will cover concept, design, flat slabs and finite element analysis.
