Dr Tianjian Ji, FIStructE, was Reader in Structural Engineering at the University of Manchester. He developed "Seeing and Touching Structural Concepts" for gaining an intuitive understanding by using simple physical models and appropriate practical examples. He is the author of two books: Understanding and Using Structural Concepts and Structural Design against Deflection.

This two-day, online course introduces seismic design of civil engineering structures. It builds on the basics of structural dynamics and engineering seismology. The course focuses on seismic loading and design codes, conceptual seismic design principles and analysis for seismic loading, and design and detailing of structural members.
