Attendees are introduced to the properties of concrete and learn about designing for durability and fire resistance. The course considers Eurocode 2 in relation to flexure, shear, axial load, and deflection. Attendees also learn how to use Eurocode 2 to design concrete beams, slabs, and columns.
By the end of the course, attendees should be able to:
Describe Eurocode 2
Design concrete for beams, slabs and columns
Determine cover for a typical element
Design elements for bending, deflection, shear and axial loads
