To attempt the examination you will already be a competent structural engineer, making an active contribution to your place of practice. The Chartered Membership examination is a test of experience that requires preparation for the day well in advance. This course does not provide instruction in the art of being an engineer but provides the opportunity to practice preparing answers to Examination questions, in particular the scheme design and communication sections. The course looks only at building questions, not the bridge question, although the principles would apply to all questions. The workshop style course is facilitated by marking examiners who work with attendees who over the course will attempt two full practice questions from past papers and answers to section 1 of two further questions. In addition the course handbook provides some reference and revision material.
Please note that this course does require some pre-course work to be completed in preparation for the course dates.
