A presentation on just some of the key challenges of redeveloping an iconic structure and the surrounding area.

This online lecture will give a summary of the overall Power Station refurbishment and redevelopment, picking out a few key items to delve into the technical challenges that the team faced.

Involved with the Power Station since the late 1990’s, Buro Happold have been working with the current owners since 2013 to redevelop the iconic Battersea Power Station which is due to be fully open to the public in 2022.

His energy and ability to rally teams together have enabled him to successfully deliver large and complex projects; the latest one being the transformation of the iconic Battersea Power Station.

Sam Youdan

Associate Director, Buro Happold
Sam has been one of the key members of the Buro Happold team who has delivered the engineering for the Battersea Power Station project. Working on the Power Station since early 2013, Sam has led all the engineering input into the heritage and heavy refurbishment design and site works, including the successful dismantling and re-construction of the award-winning chimneys.
