This course helps participants prepare for The Institution of Structural Engineers Chartered Membership (CM) Exam, in accordance with the Institution's guidelines. The course is tutored by Stephen Vary, who has 14 years of experience preparing candidates for the CM examination.
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
Stephen graduated from Sheffield University in 1975 with a BEng in Civil and Structural Engineering. From 1975 to 2007 he was working in industry for Consulting Engineers, Contractors and Project Managers. He has worked in the UK, Nigeria and Zimbabwe (7 years) and has gained experience in the design of many types of building structures and process plant structures. From 1985 to 1987 he was a part time lecturer at Hatfield Polytechnic and in 1993 he taught part-time at the University of Zimbabwe.
He has also taught on an evening course for the preparation for the Institution of Structural Engineers Part 3 Examination for the last 14 years. He became a Chartered Structural Engineer in 1982 and gained an MSc in Timber Building Conservation in 2011.
