This two day practical online course presents methods for using computational design within engineering design.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Generate parametric structural layouts
  • Quickly export simple structures to analysis packages
  • React to changes during the design process
  • Analyse a problem and design a script to automate the solution
  • Recognise how and why various data structures are used

Intended for

Student or professional engineers.

Online delivery

Our Training and Events Team has been working hard to ensure that the quality of our training does not differ despite no longer being in the classroom. We understand the importance of interacting with tutors and engaging with other delegates, and this has been prioritised when transferring our courses onto an online platform.

The content remains the same as the in-house version of the course and the group size is still limited to allow the same level of interaction to take place between delegates and the tutor(s).

Tutors

Harri Lewis

Harri helped found Ramboll Computational Design (RCD). After completing his MPhil in Digital Architectonics, he returned to RCD, but later joined the Specialist Modelling Group at Foster + Partners. Harri is the founder of Mule Studio.

Lorenzo Greco

Lorenzo is a structural engineer skilled in software development. His main areas of expertise are optimisation and machine learning for engineering, computational methods for engineering, and various programming languages.
