The workshops have been inspired by the success of previous series and design workshops, conferences and in-house technical events at various design consultancies.
We are happy to have some of the industry's leading consultancies involved. Speakers at the series include:
10 October: Ron Slade, WSP
17 October: Martin Mc Grath & David Gray, O'Connor Sutton Cronin
24 October: Nick Cole & Mark Boyle, Robert Bird Group
31 October: Alessandro Margnelli, AKT2
7 November: Ian Firth, COWI
During the workshop, the presenter(s) will present the topic of the evening and the attendees will work in small groups of five-six to prepare sketches and present their solutions to the question posed.
We recognise concept design is a vital skill that many young engineers don't get to practice in their everyday work and is one of the most important skills for progressing to Chartered status.
The aim of the workshops is to develop skills in tackling problems of concept design and feel more confident putting pen to paper.
You can register to come to as many workshops as you want. Tickets cost £15 per workshop for IStructE members. Please note there is limited availability to each event to ensure full participation of attendees.
Sandwiches and refreshments will be provided. Please email us if you have any special dietary requirements.
To ensure that the workshops run smoothly, we rely on your attendance if you register for the event. Please note that the workshop fee is non-refundable.
