This online lecture will explore the structural design and how BIM was used both in the design and on site for the new Armagh College.

The new Armagh campus of the Southern Regional College involved the demolition of the existing college buildings and construction of a new four-storey building to house all aspects of the campus’s teaching, from music to motor vehicle repairs.

The project was procured on a design and build route with Felix O’Hare as main contractor and Doran Consulting as Civil & Structural designers.

BIM was employed heavily throughout the project, from initial design right through to site coordination.  The paper will explore the structural design and how BIM was used both in the design and on site.
