The talk centres on a court case following the death of a worker when a wall collapsed prematurely in a building being demolished. The incident was the subject of a major investigation by the Police and HSE.
The actions of all parties involved in the contract were scrutinised in detail and charges brought against most of those involved. The project serves as a reminder to engineers of the need to ensure an adequate brief is provided, responsibilities are clear, and that dangers are not ignored.
