Fracking in the UK
Shale gas has been a game changer for the natural gas industry, having already significantly altered the global energy supply market and promising to have even more impact in the future.
The UK’s onshore oil and gas industry is in a transformative period. Well sites hosting hydraulic fracturing in the north of England are proceeding. Many are in the drilling phase and will be hydraulically fracturing in the near future.
There is significant resource under our feet in the UK and the speaker will explore what this means for energy security, jobs and communities.
What is the process and how is it monitored and regulated? Why has such a vocal “anti” movement been established and how is the industry busting many of the myths around this process.
Our speaker is a Petroleum engineer with operations and management experience in conventional and unconventional oil and gas exploration and production.
They are currently Well Engineering Director working onshore in the UK and have worked internationally in the oil and gas industry for 20 years and for the last 10 years onshore in the United Kingdom. They are experienced in petroleum and well engineering, drilling, production operations, well stimulation and enhancement, completions and well services, geology and geophysics.
