What being a Smart Contractor really means

This talk will discuss the Design, Construction and Maintenance of Highway Assets (Roads and Structures), along with the innovative tools and technologies that Skanska use to deliver projects as efficiently and as effectively as possible.

For Skanska, innovation is all about adding value. Through working smarter they are able deliver projects significantly safer, at lower cost, using fewer resources while providing more data to their customers. Mo will discuss digital engineering, the use of drone technology, geographical information systems and the delivery of projects.

He will also touch on Design for Manufacture and Assembly for building construction, including the use of Flying Factories and how they help with effective and efficient delivery of projects, before concluding on the work being done on printing 3D concrete and other materials (an industry first) at 6 Bevis Marks, London for example.

Mo has worked in Highways & Public Transportation in a career spanning four decades, after serving six years in the Royal Navy. He has delivered operations and maintenance services in some fairly demanding business environments during times of great change across the industry. He has worked in local authority highway services and on a number of rail operations contracts in the UK and overseas. He is a business leader who has operated at a senior level in a number of different roles, including Operations Director, Project Director and has served as a Company Director. He is strong in stakeholder management and an active advocate of collaborative working.
