CPD: Engineered Timber

The IStructE L&C YMG are excited to organise this CPD on Engineered Timber. We are very pleased that Tom Harley-Tuffs, a CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) expert has agreed to be the speaker in this event.

CPD Summary:
The 19th century was the century of steel. The 20th century was concrete. The 21st will be the century of timber.

Timber construction has seen a renaissance in the last decade, with mass engineered timber and advanced prefabrication techniques driving a new wave of taller and larger buildings around the globe.

Tom Harley-Tuffs shares his experiences and tips for designing with CLT and other modern timber construction.

Speaker:
Tom is a Chartered Engineer with over 6 years' experience as a Structural Engineer working in the UK and Singapore.

In his career to date he has worked on a dozen timber buildings, and is recognised as one of Ramboll’s leading Cross Laminated Timber experts.

His expertise also extends to volumetric construction, digital design techniques, and he is passionate about charitable work both locally and overseas.
