Joint IStructE/ICE Technical Meeting - Stay Safe or Court Disaster

Jan Andresen's presentation will give a brief overview of the role of the HSE and the legislation it enforces; in particular, that which is relevant to members.

Reference will be made to three or four case studies in which the information provided was either unclear or not acted upon correctly. This led to investigations which scrutinised the actions of the professionals involved.

Jan Andresen is a Chartered Structural Engineer and has worked for consulting engineers in both the private sector and in a contractor’s design office. Since 2002, Jan has been employed by the HSE as a specialist inspector and for the last five years, has managed their southern team of specialists.
