CPD Seminar: Condition Assessment

One of the most challenging tasks that Structural Engineers are required to undertake is the assessment of existing structures. In this context, we are generally working with aging structures which have experienced some deterioration over the years and which cannot be justified according to modern design standards; we will be relying on incomplete information, and often under significant time pressure. Condition assessment is also essential to the SER certification process for alterations to existing buildings.

This CPD Seminar gives an overview of condition assessment for structural engineers, from the fundamental techniques and understandings required to undertake a visual survey, to the wide range of specialist techniques which can be called upon, including dogs, drones and digital technology.
