Kegworth Bypass Bridge

The IStructE Wales Group and Institution of Civil Engineers Wales Cymru jointly present an evening lecture - The Kegworth Bypass Bridge.

A6 Kegworth Bypass is a new single two-lane road running from a new roundabout on the A6 just south of Kegworth village with a new bridge crossing the M1.

On the weekend of the 12/13 May 2018 the M1 was closed in order to install the bridge.

The speakers will give background to the East Midlands Gateway project and discuss the design of the integral bridge.  They will present the planning and construction of the bridge over the M1 (where there was SMART Motorway construction works) below the flight path of East Midlands Airport.
