An online technical lecture about BHS Princes Street development.

64 Princes Street was designed and built as a flagship retail store for one of the foremost retailers of its day in the late 1960’s, British Home Stores.

This presentation will cover the design challenges of transforming it into a modern multi-use building with retail, hotel and office accommodation.

The presentation will discuss our analysis of the strength and condition of the existing structure and look at materials testing that was undertaken through to designing a structure that was buildable in the very constrained city centre site.

We have also invited the principle contractor, ISG, to discuss to the construction process and challenges.
