This event is an opportunity for members in the Western Counties Regional Group (WCRG) to meet the 2020-21 President of the IStructE, Professor Don McQuillan.
The President will give a presentation on 'expert witness cases – recurring themes and lessons to be learned', followed by a question and answer session with members.
The President's presentation is based on an analysis of several hundred Expert Witness reports done in the last 20 years. It highlights themes and trends and deals with recurring issues and lessons to be learned.
The presentation concludes with the emphasis on the costs incurred when something goes wrong and how the only winner is the legal profession. It emphasises the need for increasing competence.
The talk will be preceded by a recent update from Deputy Chief Executive, Darren Byrne.
