All structural engineers are familiar with static analysis, but increasingly efficient designs mean that modal analysis is becoming more and more important.
The first half of this workshop covers buckling effects, whilst the second half covers human induced vibration, including talks and hands-on activities on modal analysis, and how it allows you to determine buckling load factors, vibration frequencies, and whether or not your client will have a lively floor.
Please note that all delegates will need to bring a Windows based laptop with them.
Peter Debney is a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers and a Senior Consultant with Arup’s Digital Technology group: Oasys. His lecture, Avoiding Common Mistakes in FEA Modelling is the most watched video on the IStructE YouTube channel.
This workshop qualifies for three hours CPD.
Tea and coffee will be provided.
